Dr. Antolak, who has a Warren office with Dr. Gregory Apsey, is one of few Michigan dentists participating in a campaign to raise funds for local and national children’s charities. He is offering to do professional teeth whitening through June 30, in exchange for the patients’ personal donation to the Smiles for Life Foundation. The requested donation is a minimum of $250, which is substantially less than the standard fee for the service. All of the donation goes to charity.

The Smiles for Life Foundation is set up for each participating dentist to donate 50 percent of the donation to a local charity and 50 percent to national children’s charities through the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation. The local charity chosen by Antolak is Sandcastles, a counseling center for children who have recently lost loved ones.

“The normal fee for whitening is $350,” Antolak said. “The process is simple. We first take an impression, fit for a tray and then offer instructions for the patient. It’s quick and painless with excellent results.”

Antolak’s efforts are part of an annual campaign organized by the Crown Council, an association of elite dentists throughout North America of which he is a member. Their charity organization, the Smiles for Life Foundation, has raised more than $17 million since it was organized in 1998. The funds have helped nearly 500 children’s charities.
