Roxanne Mouat, 39, was pronounced dead at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak on March 15, following an accident just before 3:30 p.m. at the Wattles Square Plaza, located at 17 Mile and Dequindre roads in Sterling Heights.

A 69-year-old female from Berkley lost control of her station wagon while backing out of a parking space in the plaza, hitting two unoccupied parked vehicles and pinning Mouat beneath the station wagon. The driver was not injured and did not have any passengers in her vehicle.

According to Sterling Heights Police Lt. Alan Byrd, the entire accident is under investigation. The driver has not been charged pending the results of the investigation, which will be turned over to the prosecutor’s office. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor, Byrd said.
