The event will take place April 30 at Elly’s Banquets at the Romeo Golf and Country Club, from 6 to 9 p.m. The dinner will feature a fashion show highlighting products and merchandise from area retailers.

The event will help the Dress for Success organization with an accessory drive to help replenish its supply closet. Dress for Success is a program that advances low-income women’s economic and social development, and encourages self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention.

Locally, Dress for Success responds to the needs of the community by providing programs that help economically disadvantaged women acquire jobs, retain their new positions and succeed in the mainstream workplace. Its efforts also reach statewide and across the country.

Volunteers work one-on-one with a Dress for Success client to help her select her professional attire, and provide support and encouragement as she prepares for her interviews. Once a woman becomes employed, she returns to Dress for Success for additional clothing to help her build a working wardrobe.

Guests of the Spring Networking Dinner and Fashion Show are asked to bring new or gently used accessories such as handbags, shoes, belts and jewelry items that will build up the Dress for Success inventory.

New items such as hosiery, cosmetics and personal hygiene items are also needed to help Dress for Success replenish its accessory supply. Other clothing items will be accepted. Call the chamber office for a list of needed items.

Cost for the event is $45 per person; prepaid reservations are required by April 28. Guests who prepay by April 21 will be entered into a door prize drawing for a gift basket. Ticket price includes dinner, a dessert bar, the fashion show and entry into a door prize drawing.
