Austin Delmotte had two hits including a home run, three RBIs, scored two and stole two bases. James Reynolds (RBI, score 2, 2 SB), Nick Bara (RBI), and Nick Ray (RBI, score 1, 2B) all had two hits each in the game. Getting one hit were Adam Rashid (RBI), Tyler Armstrong and Jake Moore (score 1). Offense highlighted the second game of the pair. Romeo outslugged Stoney 18-11. Joe Sosowski got the W for the dawgs. Armstrong led the offense with five hits, including two doubles, three RBIs, scoring two runs and stealing a base. Ricky Roth added three hits with a double and two singles, drove in two runs and scored three. Ray hit a round-tripper with four RBIs in his two hits. Rashid tripled and singled twice with an RBI. Brent Kraft had two hits and two runs batted in. Moore (2 RBIs), Dennis Kaliszewski, Delmotte (RBI) and John Farkas all had hits in the Bulldog offensive barrage. It was good to come back from our win on Friday to take both ends of the twinbill, said Delamielleure. Our bats continue to come alive. The guys are playing focused and relaxed. We hope it continues when league action begins. On April 25, Romeo defeated Warren Mott 17-7. Kaliszewski got the win on the mound in a relief role. He went 3 2/3 innings allowing two earned runs on three hits and two walks with four Ks. Delamielleure said Kaliszewski threw strikes and let the defense make the plays behind him. Reynolds homered, doubled and singled to drive in seven runs. Moore and Delmotte both had two hits and scored three times. Armstrong drove in a run, and scored two. Rashid added three stolen bases to team totals with one hit. Kraft (RBI), Bara (RBI), Ray (RBI) and Roth (score 2) all had one hit in the contest. This was a good game for the team, Delamielleure said. Our offense was stifled against Stevenson by a very good pitcher. We had good at-bats against Mott. On April 23, Stevenson beat the dawgs 7-1. Armstrong took the loss giving up seven earned runs on 14 hits and four walks in six innings of work. Tyler pitched better than his line looks, said the coach. He struggled early and they jumped out 5-0 like the good-hitting team they are. Romeo got two hits against the Stevenson hurler that Delamielleure feels could be a Division 1 pitcher. He was on and in charge of this game. They were the better team that day. The Bulldogs will host Dakota on Monday, May 5. They then play three on the road at Ford on Wednesday, May 7, at Stevenson on May 9 and Cousino on May 10. |
